Aside from creating something new, you can also invest on Thrift Stores where you can buy good quality of used clothes at a cheaper price. As a lot of energy comes from the creation of clothes in particular, “The production of cotton is highly pesticide-intensive, causing soil acidification and water contamination. Textile manufacturing processes also involve the use of harmful dyes, caustic soda and crude oil by-products. These chemicals are generally dumped into areas around manufacturing units, contaminating surface and ground water through soil runoff.” (Lawson, E., 2017). Perhaps, for every used item that you buy from a Thrift Store rather, you lessen the amount of waste that goes to landfill.
